Dear Okay, It’s Recording!
I remember the day you came to us, how the excitement boiled up inside me and a sense of nervousness lingered. The thought of bringing you into the world would propel Moyé into a new realm of art and communication; and propelled you did!
Although you were planned, we could not find a name for you, but you found one for yourself. With the initial introduction of Freak Slug, we fumbled in an attempt to record the interview. Her words, “Okay, It’s Recording!” came as relief to us all, reassuring the start (and existence) of the podcast. Little did we know that those three simple words would stick as well as they did. From there “Okay, It’s Recording!” was officially born, the podcast aired.
We did twelve different segments spanning across almost two years, introducing artists new and old, those who sing, write and express. You were an incredible success in creating countless opportunities (and some celeb crushes), from meeting local and international artists, giving us the ability to gain an insider’s scoop on their up and coming works as well as what drove them to complete their past accomplishments.
For this we will be eternally grateful to you. But now it is time we lay you to rest. Moyé, as a collective, has moved past the idea of interviewing to please the interviewee but is rather looking forward on new ways of changing the old format of podcasting. We will never take what you have done for us for granted, so, for this WE THANK YOU!
Thank you for the laughs and the inside jokes that were created by them; thank you for the experience and the awkward moments that came with talking to a screen, asking questions; thank you for the artistry that you have bred within us all; thank you for being a story I can tell when people ask me what the “Okay, It’s Recording!” sticker on the back of my laptop means. And most of all thank you for being Indignant, Messy and Vulnerable.
